Ganoderma lucidum is rich in polysaccharides, triterpenoids, adenosine, polypeptides, panthenol, oleic acid, alkaloids, and a variety of amino acids, and more than 200 kinds of bioactive and effective components, which have the function of bidirectional regulation of the overall balance of human body function.
Ganoderma lucidum also known as lingzhi, contains several triterpenoids and polysaccharides with demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties. Extracts such as lucidone D have shown analgesic properties in mice, associated with a decrease of nitric oxide, TNF-alpha, and IL-6 expression. The anti-inflammatory effects of reishi extracts appear to extend to microglia, downregulating the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated cells, and promoting an M2 anti-inflammatory polarization.
